A weekend that promised to be so successful turned out to be a big disappointment. He snatched pole in qualifying on his last flying lap, and in the race was running fourth, and catching the leader quickly enough to take the win, when the car developed a severe misfire, which slowed his lap times down by around 3 seconds. This meant Brett could only manage a disappointing 5th position. A very disheartening result after the team could see the win was there for the taking.
