With one race now under his belt, Brett’s ever increasing confidence was beginning to show around the welsh circuit of Pembrey, qualifying 2nd for race one.

 “… I feel like I’m really beginning to get hooked up with the car this weekend, it’s very encouraging for us to be on the front row of the grid for only my second single seater race…” 

Coming out of the first corner in 3rd, he then had a fierce battle on his hands to keep his place on the podium. Still struggling for straight line speed from the Yamaha engine, he was forced to drive very defensively! But after a few changes of position it was Brett who held 3rd to the finish line, scoring his first podium finish, an impressive feat at such an early stage in the season.

3rd on the grid for race two, it was to be another mammoth challenge to keep the faster Suzuki engined cars behind him for a full 20 minutes. Unfortunately, another podium finish was too much to ask, with Brett only being able to hang on to 5th.

“… It was quite a frustrating second race. We were quick around the tight and twisty parts of the track, but I had no defence to cars driving around the outside of me on the back straight! Still, we have a lot of positives to take from the weekend…”
